Meet Dr. Rafii

Los Angeles Voice Doctor Benjamin Rafii combines his passion for medical excellence with a deep appreciation for artistry, expression, and individuality to bring world-class vocal care to his patients.

Dr. Rafii’s dedication to learning and scholarly excellence has helped him to excel at elite institutions throughout his academic career. After attending UCLA on a full academic scholarship and receiving his medical degree from Stanford University, he completed his residency training in otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat surgery, aka ENT) at New York University in Manhattan. In order to further develop his expertise in vocal care, he then completed a fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at the UCLA Voice Center for Medicine and the Arts, thus joining an exclusive group of only a handful of doctors across the country who specialize in treating disorders of the voice, vocal cords, and throat.

Dr. Rafii’s specialized training and commitment to individually tailored vocal care make him uniquely qualified to care for people who demand the most from their voice, including performing artists, teachers, businesspeople, and so many others who rely on their voice for their livelihood and their self-expression. He also understands that good vocal health goes far beyond what’s happening just inside the voice box, and believes that a holistic and comprehensive approach to both vocal health and overall well-being is essential to achieving the best outcomes.

Dr. Rafii’s passion for vocal care stems from his own musical background. He is a classically-trained pianist, and loves to share his affection for music with friends and family. His sister is an ordained cantor; witnessing her personal journey to becoming a professional vocalist has reinforced his appreciation for the high physical, mental, and emotional demands singers face.

In his spare time, Dr. Rafii enjoys beach volleyball, soccer, tennis, and skiing, and he loves to explore LA’s cultural offerings. He feels fortunate to be living close to his family and is thrilled to call Los Angeles his home.

Dr. Rafii is board-certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and is a member of several academic societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Laryngological Association. He is proud to be recognized as an LA ENT Top Doctor by Los Angeles Magazine in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
