Before Your Visit

When you schedule your visit, you will receive a confirmation email with a welcome packet which includes a medical intake form and our office policies. Filling out the intake form prior to your visit will help you to get the most out of your time with the doctor, so we strongly encourage you to do so! Please also prepare the following documents and information to bring with you to your visit, if applicable:
● Copies of reports for any testing you’ve had related to the reason for your visit, such as imaging (CT, MRI, etc), labs, or consultations with other doctors.● The name of your primary care doctor, as well as any other specialists treating you for the condition we are seeing you for.● A complete list of your current medications, including supplements.

The Day Of Your Visit

You do not need to fast or follow a special diet on the day of your visit. Take your medications as you usually would. Please budget at least two hours of time for your visit. If this is your first visit, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. If you have not filled out the intake forms online, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to give yourself time to complete them.
If you are being seen for a voice, throat, or swallowing problem, you will likely undergo a “scope” exam as part of Dr. Rafii’s comprehensive evaluation. This is a quick, easy, and routine exam that is done either with a thin bendy spaghetti-shaped camera through the nose (don’t worry, you’ll get numbing medicine!) or with a straight camera through the mouth that rests on your tongue.
You’ll have no restrictions after the scope exam and can go about your day as usual after your appointment. If you are scheduled for a procedure, you’ll be getting specific instructions for preparation for the procedure prior to your visit.

Parking

Parking is available in the SAG-AFTRA Plaza parking lot–enter off Curson Ave between Wilshire and 6th. One-hour metered street parking is also available around the building. Please make sure to read posted signs carefully if you choose to park on the street.

Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Show Policy

Effective March 11, 2024, we have implemented a new policy regarding appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows. In order to better serve all our patients and ensure timely access to appointments, a $100 fee will be applied for any cancellations, rescheduling, or no-shows without a 24 hour notice.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we strive to accommodate our patients' needs to the best of our ability. However, last-minute changes and no-shows disrupt our scheduling and prevent other patients from accessing the care they need.
